Motor Vehicle Technician required for a SME in Lansdowne, Cape Town We are a RMI approved motor vehicle repair workshop looking for a motor vehicle technician, who is dedicated with high work ethic for fault finding, problem solving and repairs on all types of vehicles. Must have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle will be an advantage. Your ability to do cost estimating and a solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles is needed for this role. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 plus valid qualifications – NQF Level 4 Proven experience as an auto mechanic technician Preferably with 3 or more years workshop experience and diagnostic knowledge experience. Valid driver’s licence – code 8 Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of various vehicles Excellent physical condition Attention to detail, punctuality and reliability is essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct routine maintenance work aiming for vehicle functionality and longevity Conduct vehicle services Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use Provide estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job Keep logs on work and issues Efficiently repair, and maintain mechanical/electrical products. Disassemble and assemble engines, and inspect and replace parts to minimize customer costs. Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic system to repair, maintain and upgrade Communicate clearly with clients, and respond clearly to client questions Translate customer complaints into trouble shooting plans Be proactive with reporting any issues or incidents to the manager, this will contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving within the workshop Comply with safe work procedures, and apply mechanical principles to diagnose and repair products safely and efficiently Maintaining cleanliness and proper use of equipment and tools Remuneration is negotiable and based on experience
