Job Description
- goGOGOgo is seeking a committed Playhouse Site Officer to support the delivery and monitoring of the Kuyakhanya project Playhouse and across multiple sites in the Ugu District
- This role focuses on high-quality field implementation, community coordination, and consistent documentation to strengthen project outcomes
Location:
- Ugu District – KwaZulu Natal
Key performance areas:
A. Field Implementation Support
- Support Community Workers and Community Play Facilitators in conducting engagement events, community sessions, and facilitator trainings
- Consolidate weekly reports for all assigned sites.
- Conduct data-quality checks on weekly submissions.
- Monitor, verify and report on all ECD-related tools and material
B. Feedback, Documentation & Coordination
- Submit detailed weekly site visit summaries, attendance records, and incident reports using project templates
- Participate in planning meetings, debrief sessions, and learning exchanges to share field insights
- Maintain strong communication and coordination between sites, the Playhouse Supervisor, and the project team
C. Partnership, Safety & Safeguarding
- Identify and flag community sensitivities, safeguarding concerns, and emerging risks to the Project Officer and Community Development Specialist
- Uphold goGOGOgo safeguarding policies and promote ethical, community-centred engagement
Required minimum education and training:
- Grade 12 (Matric) Plus an appropriate Community work-related Higher Education Qualification
- The incumbent would need to be in the possession of a valid driver’s license, with their own vehicle as an added advantage
Required minimum work experience:
- 1-2 years experience in Community work, ECD support, NGO fieldwork, or related activitie
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
- Experience supporting ECD practitioners, ECD sites, or caregiver programmes
- Experience with monitoring tools, data verification, or community reporting
- Familiarity with behaviour change, early learning, or community development methodologies
Skills & Personal Abilities:
- Strong report-writing skills, including:
- Ability to write clear, professional weekly summaries
- Accuracy in attendance tracking and incident documentation
- Ability to analyse basic field data and highlight trends or risks
- Digital reporting skills: Confident with WhatsApp, Email, Google Forms/Sheets and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,Teams etc.)
- Ability to travel frequently between field sites in Ugu District
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and support multiple sites simultaneously
- Ability to identify risks, safeguarding concerns, or community sensitivities early
- Fluency in English and isiZulu (spoken, written advantage)
- Residency within the target district(s) is preferred
- Clear criminal record
