About the Role
The Powertrain Software Systems Engineer is a critical role that requires expertise in automotive engine management systems, powertrain management, and vehicle emission control systems. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the development, testing, and corrective actions on electronic powertrain management systems used by the group to meet global emission legislation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the in-house capability of development, testing and corrective actions on electronic powertrain (engine and transmission) management systems used by the group.
- Conduct engine management calibration, testing and release functions, both locally and internationally.
- Analyse and process test data using specialised software to produce insights supporting application changes and software release decisions.
- Represent product development in cross-divisional and corporate forums, contributing to discussions, negotiations and presentations.
- Support the production, pilot hall and product development series support teams with escalating and resolving software or component issues during pre-series and series builds.
- Investigate and resolve field quality and warranty issues related to powertrain software and components.
Requirements
- Affirmative Action South African citizen
- N.Dip/ B.Tech/ B.Eng/ B.Sc Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an automotive engine management environment
