B Tech / B Eng / BSc Eng (Chemical) or equivalent Essential
ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) Desirable
Detailed engineering and design of process plant for implementation, including commissioning – minimum 2 Years Essential
Process engineering including studies, conceptual and basic engineering – minimum 5 Years Essential
Process simulation software: ASPEN, METSIM, IDEAS, MathCAD and/or MathLab
 
Good understanding of the engineering and manufacturing industry
ISA Symbology (The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society)
 
Execute the Process Engineering design on projects, including the generation of key process deliverables such as Process Design Calculations (Mass and Energy Balances & Major Equipment Sizing), Process Diagrams, Process Design
Criteria and Process Control Philosophy to meet deadlines imposed by the Project Manager.
Produce detailed control narratives which include RAT (Range, Alarm & Trip) list, trip matrix, sequence logic diagrams based on a control philosophy generated by Lead Process Engineer within specified timeline given by Project Manager.
 
Review vendor data during procurement adjudication to ensure process criteria are adhered to.
Review and assist other disciplines to generate documents to ensure process criteria are adhered to.
Participate in process plant model reviews, including RAMBO (Reliability, accessibility, maintainability, buildability and operability study) procedures to ensure process objectives are met in accordance with project schedule.
Facilitate and/or participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability study) to ensure process objectives are met.
 
Execute a test work campaign to meet client requirements including literature review, test plan, execution, data analysis and reporting in accordance with project objectives as per project schedule.
Produce C1 commissioning plans and manage their execution including red lining of piping and instrumentation diagrams, produce punch list and attend software FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Test)
according to schedule and Company/Client procedures.
Produce C2 commissioning plans and manage their execution including assist EC&I and produce punch list according to schedule and Company/Client procedures.
Produce C3 commissioning plans and manage their execution including cold commissioning procedures & check-sheets according to schedule and Company/Client procedures.
Produce C4 commissioning plans and manage their execution including hot commissioning procedures & check-sheets according to schedule and Company/Client procedures.
