About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to join our team, responsible for managing student accommodation properties in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for leasing, tenant relationships, maintenance and capital expenditure, financial management, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to the management contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage leasing processes to ensure all renewals are started 6 months prior to lease expiry and new deals are effectively concluded.
- Establish and maintain a good relationship with tenants, attending to any issues that may arise between Eris and the tenants.
- Provide direction to Property Services Managers on building management and review their actions within levels of authority.
- Conduct regular visits to the property to ensure it is maintained to required standards.
- Review and update financial records monthly, working closely with the finance team and utility administrators/service providers.
- Attend weekly leasing meetings with clients, providing accurate feedback.
- Liaise with brokers if required.
- Work within designated levels of authority and/or mandate.
Requirements
- Matric (must)
- BSc or BSc Honours in Property Studies or BCom in Accounting (with or without Honours)
- A Professional Designated Exam (EAAB) will be advantageous (must hold an FFC certificate)
- 3-5 years experience in similar roles, with audit experience being an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Completed Matric Certificate
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Property Studies, Accounting or related field
