South Africa: Qualified Automotive EV/GEM 5/Master Technician (Electrical Specialist) – International Vacancy, Seychelles posted by Select Motor Recruitment

• Perform high-voltage diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on EVs and hybrid vehicles
• Conduct advanced electronic and electrical fault-finding on modern vehicle systems (CAN-BUS, multiplex wiring, control modules)
• Complete GEM 5 / Master Technician-level diagnostic procedures according to OEM standards
• Carry out complex mechanical, electrical, and software-related repairs
• Perform software updates, coding, programming, and module replacements
• Ensure compliance with high-voltage safety protocols and workshop safety procedures
• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring or complex technical issues

Workmanship & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all repair work meets OEM quality standards and dealership best practices
• Perform pre-delivery inspections and quality checks on repairs
• Maintain accurate job cards, diagnostic reports, and service documentation

Support & Leadership

• Mentor and support junior technicians in diagnostics and repair techniques
• Liaise with OEM technical support teams and provide feedback on technical bulletins and product concerns
• Assist the workshop foreman and service advisors with technical queries

Customer Support

• Provide professional technical explanations to customers when required
• Support the service team with accurate diagnostic outcomes for cost estimations and warranty claims

Requirements:

• Qualified Automotive Technician (Red Seal or OEM-accredited qualification)
• GEM 5 qualification / Master Technician certification (OEM-specific)
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the automotive industry in a dealership environment
• Extensive EV and hybrid vehicle training essential
• Strong background in automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, and electronics
• Experience using OEM diagnostic systems, oscilloscopes, and advanced diagnostic tools
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 8)
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-performance dealership environment
• Motor Industry experience Essential!!
