About the Role
We are seeking a Route Administrator to join our team, responsible for planning and coordinating daily delivery and collection routes, as well as providing administrative support to drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily delivery and collection routes to optimize fuel costs, travel time, and vehicle wear.
- Adjust routes based on traffic, weather, or operational changes.
- Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to align loading schedules.
- Maintain accurate route documentation and driver logs.
- Update delivery schedules in internal systems.
- Prepare daily/weekly route performance reports.
- Process and file delivery confirmations and proof of delivery (POD).
- Act as first point of contact for drivers during routes, providing updates on route changes or delivery instructions.
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or customer concerns.
- Ensure drivers comply with company policies and safety regulations.
Requirements
Previous experience in logistics, transport administration, or route planning preferred. Experience using transport management systems (TMS) desirable. Understanding of transport regulations advantageous.
Qualifications
Grade 12 / Matric.
