Job Description
- Project execution: Lead mechanical engineering activities across all project phases—concept, FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Design oversight: Develop and review mechanical designs for piping, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, and static equipment.
- Standards compliance: Ensure designs meet ASME, API, ISO, and petrochemical industry codes and standards.
- Risk management: Conduct hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, reliability assessments, and failure mode analysis.
- Vendor coordination: Evaluate technical bids, liaise with suppliers, and oversee equipment fabrication and testing.
- Construction support: Provide field engineering support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Team leadership: Mentor junior Engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Process, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation).
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project deliverables for client and regulatory approval.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years in Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Projects.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in piping stress analysis software (CAESAR II), rotating equipment, and tanks.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of materials selection, corrosion control, and mechanical integrity in petrochemical environments.
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project environments.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project).
- Strong background in safety and environmental compliance within petrochemical operations.
- Ability to work in multicultural, cross-functional teams and interface with clients.
