About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and registered Tax Practitioner to join our prestigious Audit and Accounting firm in Century City, Cape Town, as a Senior Tax Administrator. This is a pivotal role for a senior professional ready to manage complex tax portfolios and ensure superior compliance and advisory service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance Management: Oversee and manage the full tax compliance cycle for a portfolio of diverse corporate and individual clients (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.).
  • Review & Quality Control: Conduct high-level review of all tax calculations, returns, and submissions prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SARS regulations and current legislation.
  • Tax Advisory & Consulting: Assist partners and directors with complex tax opinions, structuring advice, and research on technical tax matters (Corporate Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Deferred Tax).
  • Audit Support: Represent clients and liaise directly with SARS to manage and resolve queries, audits, and disputes, demonstrating expert knowledge of the Tax Administration Act.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a primary point of contact for senior clients, providing proactive tax planning and reporting advice.
  • Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance, technical training, and mentorship to junior staff within the tax and accounting departments.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Qualification: Must be a Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS.
  • Experience (Mandatory): Extensive, proven experience (5+ years preferred) in a dedicated Tax role within a reputable Audit or Accounting Firm environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep and current knowledge of South African tax legislation (Income Tax Act, VAT Act, TAA).
  • Education: Relevant B.Com/Honours degree in Taxation or Accounting.
  • Key Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, high level of proficiency in tax software and MS Excel, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
