Our client, a renowned shipyard company in Qatar, is looking for a Senior Quality Controller (Steelworks) to oversee quality assurance processes and ensure the highest standards in steelworks and fabrication. This is for a two-year contract.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Control, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding standards, and material testing techniques.
• Strong experience with ISO quality standards, inspection procedures, and safety regulations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Duties and

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee quality control inspections for steel components, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Supervise a team of quality controllers and ensure all quality procedures are followed.
• Conduct material testing, weld inspections, and dimensional checks on fabricated steel structures.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, HSE, and company safety protocols during all inspections.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, welding procedures, and project specifications to guide quality control efforts.
• Prepare and review quality reports, inspection records, and audit documentation.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for any quality issues found.
• Train and mentor junior quality control staff, promoting continuous improvement in quality assurance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and supervisors to resolve any quality concerns and improve production processes.
