About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Steam Locomotive Engineer to join our heritage rail operation, preserving history while offering unforgettable experiences. This role is ideal for someone with extensive hands-on experience in steam locomotive systems, including restoration and full mechanical overhauls.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate steam and diesel locomotives for scheduled services and special movements.
• Lead and perform full restoration, renovation, overhaul, and maintenance of steam locomotives.
• Diagnose faults, complete mechanical repairs, and ensure safe, efficient locomotive performance.
• Maintain safety standards, operational logs, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with the mechanical team and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with steam locomotive systems, including restoration and full mechanical overhauls (essential).
• Strong understanding of steam locomotive mechanics, boiler systems, valves, motion gear, and heritage engineering practices.
• Ability to work independently within a small operational team.
• Experience with 14A, 10th, or 12th class locomotives.
• Diesel locomotive operating or maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Formal education in Engineering (if applicable)
