Job Description

About the Role

Collecting recycling and general waste material safely and efficiently at designated locations is a critical part of Wasteplan’s operations. As a Driver, you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring all materials are handled with care and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles
  • Keeping the vehicle safe and clean
  • Refueling and cleaning vehicles
  • Using navigation apps to determine the best route
  • Mapping out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
  • Performing daily equipment checks
  • Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
  • Inspecting trucks and completing daily vehicle checklist before departing the yard
  • Driving safely and following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Assisting Runners by loading and off-loading material at collection points
  • Counting all bags loaded on vehicle
  • Collecting, maintaining, and organizing all paperwork and delivering it to the proper personnel at the end of each collection
  • Reporting and documenting any accidents or vehicle issues to the Supervisor
  • Adhering to all reasonable instructions given by the Supervisor
  • Adhering to OHS ACT legislation
  • Adhering to site regulations
  • Keeping driver’s license up to date

Requirements

  • Matric / grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years working experience in a similar role
  • Must have a valid Code 10 driver’s license and a valid PDP
  • Clean driving record
  • Forklift license
