Job Summary
Requirements
- Qualified Auto Electrician (Trade Test Certificate).
- Valid code EC driver’s license and PrDP.
- Experience in maintenance of heavy duty vehicles.
- Experience in fault finding and maintenance of an electronically controlled vehicle. management system and heavy diesel vehicles.
- Relevant supervisory experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostic tests to determine faults on Electronically Controlled Vehicle Management systems.
- Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs including systems and components.
- Carry out maintenance on Electronically Controlled Vehicle Management system at pre-determined intervals.
- Carry out in-situ diagnostic inspections as part of the maintenance program.
- Supervise subordinates.
- Diagnose problems with major electrical systems in range of commercial vehicles.
- Test various commercial vehicles electrical systems for performance and safety.
- Overhaul starters and alternators for various diesel engines.
- Strip and assess replacement parts and install new parts.
- Reassemble starters and alternators.
- Test starters and alternators on test bench.
- Electrical fault finding on vehicles.
- Work according to safety regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to workshop Health and Safety procedures.
- Handle all related workshop administration.
