About the Role
Merand Corbett & Associates is seeking a skilled Documentation Controller to join our team in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end export documentation processes, ensuring compliance with various regulations and shipping line requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end export documentation processes
- Prepare and submit Shipping Instructions (SI) to shipping lines
- Process export documentation including SAD500, Phyto, COO, cargo dues, mates receipts, and packing lists
- Retrieve, check, and approve draft and final export documents
- Ensure timeous submission and release of documentation in line with shipping schedules
- Maintain compliance with PPECB, DALRRD, Ecert, Titan, and shipping line requirements
- Ensure all client mandate letters and APE registrations are in place and correctly stored
- Maintain accurate records on export documentation systems and internal networks
- Minimise additional or extraordinary costs and support accurate cost recovery
- Liaise with internal departments, service providers, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Clearing & Forwarding or relevant industry experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in export documentation / forwarding
- Solid understanding of export protocols and documentation requirements
- Experience working with export documentation systems (QX, Shipshape, Ecert or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
