Job Description
- Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of front-of-house staff, including servers, sommeliers, and hosts. Conduct regular training to maintain a high level of service excellence. - Guest Experience:
Ensure each guest receives personalized and exceptional service, attending to their needs and exceeding their expectations. Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and prompt manner. - Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow, adherence to health and safety standards, and efficient use of resources. Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed. - Wine & Food Pairing Expertise:
Collaborate closely with our Executive Chef and Sommelier to deliver curated wine pairings that complement the dishes on our seasonal menu. Demonstrate extensive wine knowledge to enhance guest experiences. - Financial Oversight:
Manage budgets, analyze sales trends, and ensure the profitability of the restaurant. Implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining high-quality service and products. - Events & Special Functions:
Coordinate private events, wine dinners, and special functions hosted at the estate, ensuring seamless execution and a memorable experience for guests.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fine dining restaurant management, with at least 2 years in a senior management role. - Wine Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of South African wines and wine pairings; WSET certification or equivalent is highly preferred. - Leadership:
Strong leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on approach. Ability to inspire and motivate staff while fostering a positive work environment. - Attention to Detail:
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail. - Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach. - Passion for Excellence:
