About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy Junior Accountant to join our team at Out the Box CFO in Stellenbosch. As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients, including SMEs, entrepreneurs, and cross-border clients. You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to advisory and CFO-level work, as well as mentorship from an experienced Chartered Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients
- Perform bookkeeping, payroll, VAT submissions, and reconciliations
- Perform and be knowledgeable on tax calculations for trusts, individuals & companies
- Liaise with virtual bookkeepers and other accountants in the team
- Contribute to process improvements and leverage cloud accounting tools (Xero, QuickBooks, Draftworx)
- Compile annual financial statements on Draftworx
- Manage SARS e-filing & follow up on matters via call centre
Requirements
- SAIPA / AGA(SA) registered
- Completed Articles
- Detailed orientated and high level of accuracy
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with cloud-based accounting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (if applicable)
