About the Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Debtors and Cash Book Clerk to manage the full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and cash book functions for our Stutterheim operations. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial records through meticulous reconciliation, proactive credit control, and efficient cash flow management. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in Sage 300, analytical prowess, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready records of all AR transactions, correspondence, and payment histories.
Accurately record and allocate incoming payments against outstanding invoices; manage credits, adjustments, and journal entries.
Monitor and manage multiple bank accounts to ensure liquidity; perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to maintain ledger accuracy.
Analyze AR aging reports to identify overdue accounts; execute assertive collection strategies and recommend bad debt write-offs when necessary.
Prepare detailed reports on debtor aging, collection metrics, and ad-hoc short-term cash flow forecasts for management review.
Generate accurate customer invoices for goods and services in strict accordance with company policy and South African accounting standards.
Process all Foreign Exchange (Forex) receipts and payments; manage the analysis and payment of various municipal accounts.
Evaluate the creditworthiness of new applicants and recommend appropriate credit limits and terms to mitigate financial risk.
Partner with Sales and Customer Service departments to resolve billing discrepancies and enhance the customer experience.

Requirements

Advanced competency in MS Office (specifically Intermediate Excel).
Previous experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) is a significant advantage.
Deep understanding of cash book controls, reconciliations, and diverse payment methodologies.

Qualifications

Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related financial field (Preferred).
