About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Temp Quality Engineer (Electrical) to join our team in Uitenhage. As a key member of our quality control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their life cycle. You will be responsible for initiating and managing qualifying programs for new part introduction, implementing continuous improvement, testing and evaluating the performance of parts according to specification, providing technical expertise for complete parts, and initiating design improvements for complex problems with electrical parts and harnesses.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate and manage qualifying programs for new part introduction
Implement continuous improvement by identifying root causes for part deviations from specification
Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to specification
Provide required technical expertise for complete parts in respect of material and function
Initiate design improvements for complex problems with electrical parts and harnesses

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of applicable motor vehicle parts, their function, applicable specifications, part manufacturing processes, and testing methods
Sound technical knowledge of motor vehicle harnesses and electrical components
Knowledge and application of Quality Tools e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D
Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
Strong analytical ability
Computer literate (Ms Office)
Ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels within the company and externally (written and verbally)
