Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking to hire a Logistics Manager to join their team in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, from suppliers to customers, optimizing inventory, reducing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Logistics Manager will lead a team, work closely with suppliers and customers, and be instrumental in driving the efficiency of our logistics operations.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
    • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to improve operational performance.
    • Manage relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and third-party logistics providers.
    • Monitor and optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
    • Manage the efficient flow of goods through the supply chain to meet customer demands.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in logistics operations.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management:

    • Optimize warehouse layout, storage methods, and inventory control systems.
    • Monitor stock levels and implement strategies to manage inventory effectively.
    • Oversee order fulfillment and ensure accuracy and timely deliveries to customers.
    • Develop and manage a stock replenishment process to ensure consistent supply levels.
  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and motivate the logistics team to achieve departmental goals and ensure a high level of customer service.
    • Train and develop logistics staff to improve performance and skillsets.
    • Conduct performance reviews and manage team productivity.
    • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture within the logistics department.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
    • Conduct regular analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare regular reports for management on logistics performance, inventory status, and delivery performance.
  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting delivery schedules and addressing any logistics-related issues.
    • Liaise with customers to provide updates on deliveries, lead times, and stock availability.
    • Handle customer complaints or issues related to logistics operations and provide timely resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Education & Qualifications:

    • A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CILT) are a plus.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years` experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record in managing logistics operations, optimizing supply chains, and leading teams.
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Solid understanding of transportation management, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
    • Ability to analyze logistics data and implement effective solutions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
    • Attention to detail and a customer-centric approach.

    • Valid drivers license and own transport.
    • Willingness to travel as required to meet with suppliers, customers, and partners.
    • Flexibility to work additional hours or on weekends as required by operational needs.
