Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate Sous Chef for a luxury private game lodge based in Vaalwater. This position offers the opportunity to work in a stunning natural environment while delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu planning and development in line with lodge standards

• Stock control, including stock takes, ordering and supplier management

• Preparation of high-quality lodge-level dishes (not fine dining, but to a luxury standard)

• Elevated plating and presentation of dishes

• Baking, including breads and other lodge requirements

• Assisting with service and table set-up where required

• Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining kitchen standards and operations

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury lodge or similar environment

• Strong all-round culinary skills, including hot kitchen, baking and presentation

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a remote lodge setting

• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail

• A collaborative team player with a passion for guest satisfaction

• Flexibility to assist in other areas of lodge operations when necessary

Package:

• Salary: R15,000 R18,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
