West Rand: Junior Electrical- Mechanical Engineer

Role Summary We are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to support our engineering team in designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior engineers, contribute to project execution, installation, commissioning and service activities, and help ensure our hardware and automation systems meet performance, safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities · Assist with the design and development of mechanical and electrical systems, including motor drives, control panels, and wiring. · Prepare and interpret technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and wiring diagrams. · Support purchasing and vendor coordination for mechanical and electrical components. · Assist with on-site installation, supervision, commissioning, and hand-over of equipment. · Perform mechanical and electrical testing, quality inspections, and generate reports/documentation. · Work collaboratively with the broader project team to ensure integration of systems. · Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards and practices. · Support maintenance, service, and after-sales activities including troubleshooting. · Continuously learn and contribute new ideas for improving designs, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. · Bachelors degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. · 02 years relevant engineering experience (internships or industrial placement acceptable). · Basic proficiency in engineering software (2D/3D CAD tools, Microsoft Office suite). · Understanding of core mechanical/electrical engineering principles. · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical diagrams. · Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment. · Valid South African drivers licence (CodeB) preferred. Advantageous Skills/Experience: · Exposure to industrial automation systems (PLCs, drives, conveyor systems).
