Field Technician – Fitness Equipment (JB5716) Location: Cape Town, Western Cape Salary: R20 – 25 000 per month Employment Type : Permanent Join a leading distributor of world-class fitness and wellness technology as a Field Technician based in Cape Town. This role combines mechanical, electrical, and IT/networking expertise in a hands-on, client-facing position where every day brings a new technical challenge. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair advanced fitness equipment to international standards. This includes both mechanical assembly and digital setup, ensuring all equipment is networked correctly for monitoring and software updates. The role is highly practical, requiring a technician who enjoys physical work, customer interaction, and continuous technical learning. Candidates with experience in assembly, configuration and maintenance of equipment would be well-suited to this role. Minimum Requirements: Suitably qualified in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Software/Network Configuration (non-negotiable) 23 years experience in repairs/maintenance of technical equipment (e.g. fitness, printers, copiers, air-conditioning, or similar) Valid drivers license (company vehicle provided for daily service calls) Proficient in mechanical and electronic troubleshooting Confident with network and digital system configuration Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation Customer-focused, reliable, and able to represent the brand professionally Physically fit and comfortable performing manual, hands-on work Fast learner who embraces e-learning and hands-on technical training Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and repair of fitness equipment according to manufacturer standards Assemble, install, and test mechanical and electronic components Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and digital/software faults Configure network connections (Wi-Fi or LAN) for connected systems Complete service reports accurately and legibly Maintain high First-Time Fix Rates (FTFR) (target 8095%) Provide customer support (on-site, telephonic, and email) Complete ongoing e-learning certifications (Level 13) for equipment and digital diagnostics Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, company vehicles, and parts Support colleagues on larger installations and ensure excellent client satisfaction If youre a technically skilled, customer-focused professional ready to combine engineering expertise with cutting-edge fitness technology, apply today and build your career with a dynamic, wellness-driven organization .
