Key Responsibilities
As Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the finance function and guiding a small team of accountants. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing monthly accounting processes and reconciliations
- Compiling and analysing management reports
- Managing cashflow, investments, and approving payments and collections
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensuring all control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements are reconciled monthly
- Preparing and submitting VAT, income tax, and statutory returns (FSCA, Prudential Authority, SARB, SARS, NAMFISA)
- Compiling annual financial statements in line with IFRS
- Liaising with auditors and resolving outstanding reconciliation items
- Identifying and implementing process and internal control improvements
- Supporting regional managers with accurate and timely financial information
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA)
- 2+ years’ post-articles experience, ideally within Financial Services or Short-Term Insurance
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac (advantageous)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and time management abilities
