Job Description:
As the Financial Controller, your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Provide effective leadership to the team and deliver strong support to the broader business
Maintain clear, consistent communication with team members and Operations
Develop individual team members, identify high-potential talent, and support their growth
Ensure the Debtors function operates efficiently and delivers high-quality outputs
Oversee the Purchasing/Creditors function to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
Manage the Cash Book with precision and adherence to internal controls
Oversee cashflow management to support financial stability and operational planning
Drive continuous improvements across financial and operational processes
Review all finance and operational systems to identify opportunities for enhancement and innovation
Lead the development, improvement, and implementation of SOPs for AR, AP, and Treasury to ensure standardisation and compliance
Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation within the Shared Services environment and manage related implementation projects
Collaborate with IT and external vendors to enhance automation and digitisation initiatives
Champion change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new systems, tools, and processes

Skills & Experience:
3-5 years of hands-on experience in the finance function – from reconciliations to reporting
Shared Services Experience required

Qualification:
Completed Finance or Accounting diploma or degree
Grade 12 (matric)

Job Description:
As the Financial Controller, your duties include the following:
Process all invoices on Sage Evolution with approved purchase orders attached
Perform first-level supplier reconciliation reviews for all accounts on the age analysis
Load new suppliers on the banking system
Prepare payment requisitions with supporting documents
Complete monthly petty cash counts and reconciliations
Submit accurate monthly payroll inputs to the payroll team
Prepare ad-hoc customer invoices and manage the monthly billing cycle accurately and timeously
Assist with monthly spot checks on the asset register and stock counts
Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records
Ensure correct VAT processing and understanding of VAT implications
Complete monthly customs duty submissions
Audit, control, and process supplier invoices in the line with the financial manual
Prepare the full creditors audit file for senior finance review ahead of external audits
Provide accurate, high-quality financial information for ad-hoc requests within the required timeframes
 
Skills & Experience:
2 years of accounting experience (or completed SAIPA articles)
Hospitality experience would be highly advantageous
Sage Evolution Experience would be highly advantageous

Qualification:
Completed Finance or Accounting Degree

Own the Numbers: Process daily and monthly financial transactions with precision, ensuring every document and approval is in place.
Keep Suppliers Happy: Manage supplier accounts, reconcile statements, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate smooth payment cycles.
Drive Payments: Assist in preparing payment batches, set up beneficiaries, and guarantee accurate remittance details for suppliers.
Stay Cash-Savvy: Oversee petty cash checks, reconcile bank activity, and keep cash flow records up to date.
Payroll Partner: Submit monthly payroll inputs and support payroll-related admin to keep the team paid on time.
Bill Like a Pro: Prepare customer invoices, assist with monthly billing runs, and monitor debtor ageing to flag risks early.
Protect Assets: Support asset and stock management through spot checks and timely record updates.
Be Audit-Ready: Organize financial records, maintain filing systems, and ensure documentation is accurate and compliant.
Master Compliance: Process VAT details correctly and assist with customs submissions when needed.
Champion Controls: Follow financial policies, approval workflows, and internal control procedures consistently.
Support Audits: Compile schedules and respond to external audit queries with confidence.
Team Player: Jump in on ad-hoc financial tasks and data requests to keep the finance engine running smoothly.

Skills & Experience:
Exposure to hospitality, retail, or multi-site operations beneficial
Sage Evolution Experience Advantageous
Intermediate MS Office knowledge
Nedbank Experience Advantageous
Attention to detail
Customer Service orientation
Planning and organising skills
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Perform well under pressure and adhere to deadlines

Qualification:
Newly SAIPA OR
BCom/ National Diploma in Finance + experience (Minimum 2 – 5 years)
