South Africa: Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the entire logistics process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. With a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, you will be responsible for coordinating with shipping lines, forwarders, and clients to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire logistics process from loading point to final delivery destination
  • Schedule and secure supply chain services promptly, selecting the most suitable options based on market availability, compliance standards, and client needs
  • Keep transport and shipping information current and share updates with all relevant parties
  • Confirm dispatches quickly and accurately to support the timely preparation of export and local documentation
  • Track vessel and container movements, generate status reports for stakeholders, and address any delays or disruptions
  • Manage communication and coordination with third-party service providers, such as cold storage facilities and off-site warehouses
  • Gather and provide precise data required for internal export clearance procedures
  • Report logistics-related issues to the Logistics Manager and support the assessment and consolidation of claims

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, in fruit/agriculture or supply chain
  • Knowledge of QX or other fruit systems – preferred
  • Experience with export documentation
  • Excellent communication skills
