Job Description
- Attend to machine breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform repairs
- Report on downtime, repair progress, and maintenance activities
- Maintain service records for specialised production equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on induction ovens and temper furnaces
- Conduct weekly and monthly servicing in line with maintenance schedules
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime
- Investigate and report on unexpected stoppages and equipment limitations
- Monitor machine components and report on performance and wear
- Support commissioning of new equipment in collaboration with engineering teams
- Liaise with design, R&D, and external specialists on equipment improvements
- Ensure tools and equipment are available and in good working condition
- Provide feedback on design improvements and deviations from specifications
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Mathematics or Maths Literacy)
- Red Seal Trade Certificate – Fitter & Turner (essential)
- 3–5 years’ post-trade experience
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (advantageous)
- Willingness to work overtime and be on call when required
- Must reside in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town
