About the Role
As an Operations Supervisor in our Drive Thru Yard Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our operations. Your weekly evaluation and reporting to the Supervisor/Manager will help maintain accurate stock levels and provide excellent customer service, ultimately driving business growth and sustainable profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily attendance registers are completed by verifying staff attendance on time.
- Supervise a team of subordinates and ensure all branch transfers/orders are completed within 48hr turnaround time.
- Verify that all subordinates complete their logsheet daily, checking for accurate transfer/order numbers recorded on the logsheet and verified with the back-order report.
- Complete all G2G requirements daily.
- Conduct daily huddles to ensure staff complete their daily routines and hand in their reports to the Supervisor/Manager by the end of each month.
- Perform regular floor walks to maintain daily housekeeping, including cleaning before the early shift end.
- Prepare an efficient mini-SWOT report on a set date, highlighting:
- Strengths: Suggestions for improving department efficiencies and operations.
- Weaknesses: Daily challenges, staff shortages, or resource shortages.
- Opportunities: Ideas that could create opportunities, changes that could be implemented.
- Threats: Concerns that could be detrimental to the department and the Branch, including loopholes, theft, or health and safety challenges.
- Actively respond to additional staff requirements or operational peak times by monitoring and distributing promotional stock or auto-order transfers in a timely manner.
- Assist with quarterly staff evaluations by being present during departmental staff evaluations.
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- 2 Years experience as a Clerk
- Leadership training completed
- Internal stock system knowledge
- Ability to handle pressure
- Displays Standard Operating Procedure unattended
- Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
- Planning, time management, and organizing skills
