Job Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate MRP requirements and propose optimal supply solutions to the business.
- Schedule jobs in accordance with business requirements with MRP and considering the production schedule and procurement lead times.
- Coordinate and identify long lead time items and mitigate any bottlenecks caused by the long lead time items.
- Plan and implement the material planning for all electrical items.
- Prepare procurement data packs with the help of the project managers to ensure materials are delivered timeously.
- Coordinate and assist in managing external suppliers builds of electrical equipment.
- Identify and expedite critical items through the supply chain.
- Verify resource availability (material, equipment) required for production to deliver, ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept to a desired level.
- Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Promptly informing relevant departments of any changes that affects the current production schedules (Drawings and design changes)
- Participate in the development and implementation of an improved ERP system.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma (advantageous) or relevant experience in the supply chain and production environment, either as a production planner or relevant field
- 5+ years’ experience as a production planner.
- Must have own transport
- Must be proficient in all MS applications
- Must have sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP related software.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
