The Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising and managing Engineering operations and projects across the Cape Region.

This role ensures efficient maintenance, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety and legal standards while leading a team of technicians, artisans, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the efficient operation of the maintenance and projects section to meet corporate and legal requirements.
• Supervise and control the maintenance program to ensure effective departmental performance.
• Oversee major equipment refurbishment programs to optimise assets and reduce operating costs.
• Manage training and knowledge transfer within the team.
• Plan, supervise, and control project work programs.
• Oversee on-site installations and maintenance, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Coordinate SHERQ requirements within the designated area.
• Enforce the highest level of safety standards to protect personnel and property.

Essential Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 with Maths, Science, and English.
• N6 and/or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade-tested Artisan in a related Engineering field.
• Basic Business Management Certificate.
• SACGA accreditation as a registered gas installer (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a heavy engineering/production environment within the gas or related industry.
• At least 5 years’ supervisory experience managing Technicians, Artisans, and Contractors.
• Strong ability to transfer knowledge and build cross-functional team skills.
• Experience working with customers and suppliers at all levels.
• Knowledge of SHERQ management systems and ISO standards.
• Strong organisational, planning, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Medically fit to work at different height levels.
• Valid unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel when required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (reporting and administration).
