Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking to hire a Head of Growth/Sales to join their team in Johannesburg. The Head of Sales will report to the CEO and serve as a key member of our leadership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales playbook, building and leading a high-performing sales team, and driving revenue growth. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with customer success, product development, and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute a robust go-to-market sales strategy, incorporating a structured sales pipeline, targeted messaging, and performance objectives.
  • Drive lead generation, sales calls, platform demonstrations, and tailored proposals to secure deals with small, medium, large, and enterprise clients.
  • Continuously assess market trends and customer needs to refine sales messaging and enhance product positioning.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to optimize processes and maximize performance outcomes.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Plan and align staffing needs with business growth objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team to consistently achieve and surpass revenue targets.
  • Foster a results-driven team culture centered on collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.

Business Development & Customer Retention

  • Implement and oversee outbound lead generation initiatives to drive business growth.
  • Engage with prospects to understand their challenges and provide tailored solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to expand market reach.
  • Partner with customer success, product, and technical teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer experience.
  • Take an active, hands-on role throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of proven sales leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Sales.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales, with a focus on mid-market and enterprise clients.
  • Strong expertise in building, managing, and coaching sales teams.
  • Ability to develop and execute high-impact sales strategies.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using sales automation tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with C-suite executives.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline from prospecting through to deal closure.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing platforms such as Freshsales or HubSpot.
  • Fluency in at least two of the following languages: English, Afrikaans, Zulu, or Xhosa.
