About the Role

The successful candidate will take ownership of the full finance function, acting as a key partner to the CEO on strategy, growth, and profitability in Cape Town City Centre.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a trusted advisor to the CEO, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s long-term growth strategy and driving key commercial decisions. You will be responsible for providing insightful commercial analysis, leading financial planning and analysis, and driving profitability and cash flow optimisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO, contributing to long-term planning, growth strategy, and key commercial decisions
  • Provide insightful commercial analysis across pricing, margins, sales channels, commissions, credit, and inventory management
  • Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and performance reporting
  • Drive profitability, cash flow optimisation, and working capital management initiatives
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated Group Annual Financial Statements
  • Take ownership of the annual external audit process, acting as the primary liaison with auditors
  • Manage full tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, and SARS submissions (including ITR14)
  • Lead treasury management, including banking relationships and cash flow oversight
  • Serve in key governance roles including Public Officer (SARS), Information Officer (POPIA), and PAIA Officer
  • Ensure company secretarial compliance and adherence to all statutory requirements
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team

Requirements

  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted advisor at executive level, influencing strategic decisions
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate financial insights into business impact
  • Advanced technical accounting expertise, particularly in consolidated reporting
  • Demonstrated experience leading external audits and managing regulatory requirements

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Finance to lead our finance function, driving strong governance, clear accountability, and a high-performance team culture in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering data-driven insights that support strategic decisions and long-term planning, while contributing to revenue growth, margin improvement, cost efficiency, and overall profitability.

  • Lead the finance function end-to-end, ensuring strong governance and clear accountability
  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly close, management accounts, and Group reporting requirements
  • Continuously enhance financial controls, reporting standards, and scalable best-practice processes
  • Partner with the executive team to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decisions and long-term planning
  • Own the full budgeting and forecasting cycle, working closely with FP&A and senior finance stakeholders
  • Evaluate growth opportunities, including new ventures, partnerships, acquisitions, and expansion initiatives

  • Oversee treasury, cash flow, and financial risk, including liquidity optimisation and foreign exchange exposure
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and advisors

Requirements

  • Minimum 35 years of experience in finance, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role
