• Completed trade test as a Marine Mechanic
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
• Proven experience working on V6 and V8 carburetted engines
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans

 
DUTIES

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems
• Identifying the cause of engine malfunctions
• Install new parts when required
• Replace worn or damaged parts e.g. spark plugs, filters etc
• Ensure safe and proper operation of the vessel
• Adjust or replace propellers when needed
• See to oil changes, grease fittings, and cooling system checks
• Run the engine at different speeds to ensure proper function and identify issues
• Keep detailed records of work performed and parts replaced to inform customers
