Job Summary
AREA: Pretoria, Gauteng
INDUSTRY: Medical Equipment Repairs
Salary / CTC: R 10 000 – R 30 000 (depending on current earnings, qualifications and experience)
Report to: Technical Manager
Type: Permanent Key
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on medical equipment in hospitals and clinics.
- Diagnose technical faults and implement corrective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Utilise advanced hospital maintenance software for efficient tracking and servicing.
- Ensure all equipment complies with SAHPRA regulations and ISO certification requirements.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide rapid response technical support to healthcare facilities.
- Offer expert guidance to hospital staff on equipment usage and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Coordinate loan unit equipment provisions to prevent operational disruptions.
- Installation & Setup
- Assist in seamless hospital setup solutions, from planning to final inspection.
- Ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of new medical equipment.
- Work closely with engineering teams to optimise hospital maintenance strategies.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to industry regulations and company compliance standards (SAHPRA, ISO, B-BBEE).
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and quality control protocols.
- Participate in regular audits and risk assessments to uphold high operational standards.
- On-Site Support & Contract Management
- Provide full-time technical support at hospitals where the company has maintenance contracts.
- Collaborate with clinical engineering teams to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain stock levels of essential spare parts and equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent understanding of medical equipment maintenance and repair
- Ability to use hospital maintenance software effectively
- Knowledge of SAHPRA, ISO, and healthcare regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and respond rapidly to service requests
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, or related field
- Experience: 3-5 years in medical equipment maintenance and support
- Certifications: SAHPRA registration (preferred), ISO compliance experience, OEM training (advantageous)

- Willingness to travel, valid driver’s license
