• A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership or Management (advantageous)
• Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role within an educational institution
• Proven academic record and expertise in curriculum development

Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships with staff, students, and parents
• In-depth knowledge of the South African education system and curriculum (CAPS or IEB)
• Experience in academic oversight, student discipline, and pastoral care
• Proven ability to manage and implement strategic plans and educational initiatives
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Competence in managing school resources, budgets, and schedules
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure
• A passion for student welfare and academic excellence

Job Description:

• Assist the Principal in the daily management and operation of the school
• Support the implementation of the school’s strategic plan and academic goals
• Lead the development and review of the school curriculum to ensure academic excellence
• Oversee the professional development of teaching staff and ensure that the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained
• Monitor student performance and provide interventions to support those in need of additional assistance
• Take charge of student discipline and pastoral care, promoting a positive and respectful school culture
• Work with the Principal and other school leaders to develop and manage school policies and procedures
• Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider school community, providing regular updates on student progress and school developments
• Manage school events, extracurricular activities, and student welfare initiatives
• Deputize for the Principal in their absence and assume leadership responsibilities as required
