Job Summary
- This highly technical position involves a wide range of responsibilities, from administering and troubleshooting systems to implementing security measures and providing end-user support.
- With a deep understanding of ICT systems and networks, this team member deploys, maintains and resolves issues, performs regular system updates, and collaborates with other IT functions.
- Their expertise ensures the reliability and security of systems operations, enabling efficient communication and data exchange within businesses, and is fundamental to the operational success and cybersecurity posture of modern organisations.
Duties (Summarized):
- Secure email administration.
- Secure messaging administration.
- Network maintenance and administration.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Security Management.
- Technical support and guidance.
- Documentation and reporting.
- Collaboration with vendors.
Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of ICT technologies, including Email, Messaging LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and other networking protocols.
- Security Fundamentals: Understanding of network security protocols and practices to protect data and infrastructure.
- Other: Problem solving, communication, analytical, attention to detail, project management, teamwork, adaptability.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certification, CompTIA Security+, or other relevant network certifications.
- Experience: Prior experience in desktop and network support, administration, or a related field. This can vary from medium-level positions to more advanced roles requiring several years of experience.
- Understanding of Operating Systems: Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), Mobile Operating Systems (Android, iOS) and their configurations.
- Knowledge of Systems Hardware: Proficiency in handling server and network equipment.
- Software Skills: Experience with monitoring and management software tools.
The proposed salary for the role is R20k – R25k per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering the candidate`s qualifications, skills, and experience.
