Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Management Accounts: Prepare and maintain accurate management accounts every month, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Tax: Handle all tax-related duties, including tax filing, compliance, and communication with tax authorities.
- Budget: Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and adjustment of budgets to meet financial objectives.
- Banking: Manage daily banking activities, including reconciliation of bank statements and maintaining records.
- Tax Certificates: Ensure timely issuance of tax certificates and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Annual Report: Prepare and assist in the development of the annual financial report for stakeholders.
- Trial Balance: Bring the books to trial balance, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Reporting: Report to the respective entities at meetings, providing clear and accurate financial updates and insights.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: BCom Accounting (preferred)
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Pastel, Sage, Xero) or familiarity with South African tax software platforms would be highly desirable.
- Additional tax regulations, budgeting, or financial reporting training could be advantageous.
- No payroll responsibilities.
Skills:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and financial regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Pays attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Work Conditions:
- An intimate, relaxed, small-team working environment.
- Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend work required to attend meetings.
- The hybrid work model is available, subject to team agreement and at the discretion of management.
- Leave: 21 days per annum subject to operational needs and at the discretion of the trust/committee.
