Job Summary
Sagen Advisory Recruitment company is recruiting for a London based Interior Design Studio, who are looking for a remote based Draftsperson, who would provide the Design Director with full or part time assistance across a variety of drawing and technical related tasks, not limited to the following:
- Coordination and completion of drawing work documents for a variety of projects (detailed elevation, plan, layout drawings, as well as electrical/power/lighting layouts, MEP drawings (AC/Plumbing etc), lighting, etc) based on specifications and sketch marked up drawings given by design director and design team. Using prepared template documents and/or creating new documents using company branding
when required. - Preparation of detailed joinery and furniture drawings with an understanding of joinery requirements, detailing and capacities/feasibility of joinery.
- Updating/preparation of detailed Drawing Register documents using existing templates (or creating/improving these as required), and ensuring these are fully up to date and correlate with all latest design drawing packages.
- Communication with design team when required, with initiative to ask questions during drawing work to
ensure minimum revisions to drawing packages. - Potential to grow with company and learn new software/3D software as and when required Skills required:
AutoCAD 2D - Understanding of standard Interior Design and Architectural forms, standard sizes, production/manufacture details etc.
- Strong written and verbal communicative skills
- Good communicator, confident dealing with design team, and as job role grows, to communicate with external architectural team, clients and building contractors.
- Ability to work well under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines.
- Flexible and open attitude to new ways of working, and timescales of design director, client and project.
- Self-motivated, pro-active with ability to take initiative.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of draftsman/draftsperson experience
- 3+ years of remote work experience
- Own laptop
- Strong internet connection
- Equipped to work during loadshedding hours.
- Excellent communicator
- Experience of 3D rendering software for 3D visuals.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience in a design studio not essential, however knowledge of the industry preferred.
