A recent professional profile photo is to accompany your application EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent SECTOR : Manufacturing BASIC SALARY : R1 500 000 per annum Benefits START DATE : A.S.A.P / Immediate REQUIREMENTS: Matric (Grade 12) Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing, including 5 years in senior leadership Strong background in plastic manufacturing Hands-on experience with mechanical systems and systems thinking Expertise in injection molding, printing, and assembly operations Proven success in implementing Lean Manufacturing and ISO systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Strong leadership and decision-making skills DUTIES: Operational Leadership and Accountability: Take ownership of the plant’s performance oversee and manage all plant operations, ensuring optimal performance across injection molding, printing, and assembly processes. Ensure production schedules are met with consistent adherence to quality, safety, and efficiency standards. Address challenges proactively and maintain a systems-thinking approach. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to identify and solve operational challenges proactively. Drive technological upgrades and adapt processes to meet evolving demands. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to ISO systems and compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with quality teams to uphold high-quality standards across all operations. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 200 employees, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. Build capacity within the team to manage complexity and ensure high performance in a demanding environment. Equipment and Technology Management: Maintain a hands-on approach to understanding and optimizing the performance of injection molding machinery. Stay updated on advancements in machinery and technology, driving upgrades to maintain a competitive edge. Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with the company’s business objectives. Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital projects to ensure sustainable growth and profitability. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the supply chain, sales, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of operations. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to support operational goals. Balance operational priorities with customer needs, ensuring satisfaction and timely delivery of high-quality products. Health and Safety: Ensure organizational health and safety standards and safe working practices are maintained. Work safely and report safety hazards or issues. Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses. Food (Product) Safety: Food safety standards are site-specific, and at these sites, employees should: Apply the sites food safety principles and standards. Report on any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager. Comply with and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the companys FSMS (Food Safety Management System). Apply the companys quality principles and standards. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Reporting and Administration: Complete all reports and administration related to the position. General: Ensure the team knows what to do and where to find information if you are not available. Inform yourself about and apply the company’s principles and standards. Set an example and be a role model for your team and others in the way you work and behave. Self-Development and Growth: Realistically assess your own strengths and development areas and undertake actions to address weaknesses. HOURS: Monday to Friday: 07:00 17:00
