Job Summary
Who are we: A business-to-business publishing house focusing on trade publications.
Who we are looking for: A talented and detail-oriented Editor with a strong background in the news industry.
What will you do:
- Review, edit and proofread content for grammar, style and accuracy
- Ensure all content adheres to the company’s editorial guidelines and tone
- Collaborate with writers and content creators to improve the clarity and impact of the material
- Manage the production schedule and ensure timely delivery of all content
- Fact-check articles, ensuring that all information is accurate and properly sourced
- Work closely with the design and marketing teams to produce engaging and visually appealing content
- Ensure consistency in style, tone and quality across all platforms (web, print, social media, etc.)
- Stay updated on trends in the industry to ensure content relevance and competitiveness
- Provide feedback and coaching to junior writers or content contributors
- Maintain and update editorial style guides as needed
What will you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Previous experience in a news environment is essential
- Proven experience as an Editor, with a strong portfolio of edited works
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for improving content structure and readability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and SEO best practices is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
- Knowledge of digital media platforms, including social media, blogs and newsletters
- Experience working with design software or familiarity with layout and formatting is an advantage
