Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Specialist QA Engineer Employment Type: 6 months Contract, Hybrid Work Location: Johannesburg North JOB CONTEXT: Our International Payments team is seeking a motivated Specialist QA Engineer to join their DevOps team. The role involves designing and developing automation test scripts for various technical products and services, covering areas like front-end, back-end, integration, performance, scalability, and regression testing. The goal is to ensure reliable cross-border payments processing via SWIFT, deliver consistent customer experiences across Africa, and drive innovation through streamlined processes and robust test coverage. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts. Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Establish and enforce QA standards, methodologies, and processes. Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders. Identify and implement new tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency. Manage test environments and data. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability. Managing and communicate issues. Measure and report end to end test progress (Test Metrics). Plan and co-ordinate Test strategy and test plans on internal and external projects. Monitor test delivery. Mentor and manage testing resources i.e check-ins, recruitment, performance and development. Manage and mitigate quality risks. Ensure Test governance i.e. Implement and monitor quality gated approach. Ensure test process improvement i.e. assess maturity, recommend improvements. Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts. Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Establish and enforce QA standards, methodologies, and processes. Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders. Identify and implement new tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency. Manage test environments and data. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS; Relevant qualification in a related field, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Management. 5 years of experience in software QA, with at least 3 years focused on automation testing. ISTQB Test Manager is advantageous. Good work experience with Selenium, Python, REST services, Postman, TestNG, SQL, Git, Test framework knowledge a plus (RobotFramework). Good work experience using data, keyword, hybrid, behavior driven frameworks. Must be able to create technical integration and automated test suits using automation frameworks. Ability to deal with senior stakeholders. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the National Payment System and background in Payments specifically SWIFT/International settlements will be an advantage. Technical leadership will be an advantage. MANDATORY SKILLS REQUIRED: Agile Testing. Collaboration with developers throughout the SDLC. Continuous testing and feedback. Test-driven development (TDD) and behaviour-driven development (BDD). Risk-Based Testing. Prioritizing testing efforts based on risk assessment. PREFFERED SKILLS: DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Integration of testing into automated build and deployment pipelines. Shift-left testing approach. Page Object Model (POM). Design pattern for creating object repositories for web UI elements. Data-Driven Testing. Separating test data from test scripts for more efficient test maintenance. Keyword-Driven Testing. Creating modular, reusable test scripts based on keywords. Exploratory Testing. Complementing automated tests with manual, creative exploration. Performance Testing Methodologies. Load testing, stress testing, scalability testing. API Testing. RESTful API testing methodologies. Contract testing. PACKAGE & REMUNERATION: Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable banking experience, and previous earnings.

JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATION Job Title: Specialist QA Engineer Employment Type: 12 Months Contract Work Location: Onsite Job Description: We’re on the hunt for a passionate and sharp-eyed Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic Branch Forex Team! In this role, you’ll be a key player in making sure our application is rock-solid, user-friendly, and ready to perform at its best. If you’re someone who loves diving into the details, spotting what others might miss, and takes pride in delivering top-notch solutions, we want to hear from you. You’ll work side-by-side with a collaborative, cross-functional teamtroubleshooting, innovating, and helping to elevate our app to the next level. Get ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced, exciting environment where quality truly matters. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios. Executing functional and automated tests. Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the business stakeholders. Tracking and reporting on defects. Interacting with clients to understand product requirements. Participating in design reviews and providing in-put on requirements, product design, and potential problems. Test in different environments including web, Mobile App and windows-based applications. Mandatory and Technical Skills: Understanding of fundamental software testing concepts, including test case design, test execution, regression testing, and test reporting. Familiarity with different types of testing such as functional, usability, performance, and security testing. Proficiency in using defect tracking tools to report and manage software defects. Ability to document defects with clear and detailed information, including steps to reproduce and expected vs. actual results. Ability to create clear and concise test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements. Experience in maintaining and updating test documentation as software changes are introduced. Hands-on experience in executing manual test cases across different platforms (web, mobile, desktop) to validate software functionality and behaviour. Entry-level programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript to create simple automated test scripts. Ability to understand and modify existing automation scripts. Ability to analyse software behavior, identify potential defects, and troubleshoot issues. Understanding fundamental testing concepts, principles, and methodologies such as black-box testing, white-box testing, functional testing, regression testing, and usability testing. Functional and Automation testing. Strong analytical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail. Experience working in an Agile development environment environments and cross-functional team structures. Experience in Git or other source code management systems. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Beneficial skills (Desired Skills): High level of attention to detail. Logical thinker. Team player. Ability to take instruction. Ability to handle pressure. Proficient in meeting deadlines. Must be organized and methodical. Understanding of API testing concepts and experience in testing web services and APIs. Familiarity with tools like Postman or SoapUI and the ability to validate API responses and perform integration testing. Forex knowledge within the Banking Sector. Qualifications and Experience: 3-5 Years experience in Automation/Manual Testing. Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing concepts Experience with tool stack TFS, JIRA, Test Rail and Confluence Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban Familiarity with testing methodologies, such as black-box testing, white-box testing, and regression testing. Experience with testing in different environments, including web, mobile, and desktop applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
