Job Summary

Senior Bookkeeper 3 Month FTC – East Rand We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage our financial records, payroll, tax submissions, and inventory reporting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Intelliserve and Pastel, comfortable handling both accounting and payroll tasks, and detail-oriented with strong reconciliation skills. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting: – Manage cashflow and maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. – Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries. – Maintain the general ledger, including transferring subsidiary account summaries and preparing trial balances. – Conduct general ledger to sub-ledger reconciliations. – Prepare month-end financial reports, break-even reports, commission reports, and sales analysis with stock items. – Balance Intercompany Loan accounts. – Conduct quarterly stock control and stock takes. – Assist with contract and job queries. – Manage fleet expenses. – Use Intelliserve spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting. Banking & Cashbook: – Handle daily and weekly Nedbank Business Hub transactions and queries. – Import clearing with costing. – Pay suppliers through Nedbank Global. – Capture and reconcile all bank accounts in the cashbook. Debtors & Creditors: – Resolve debtor queries and process credit notes as applicable. – Create manual statements for customers and perform debtor reconciliations. – Process supplier goods received notes and invoices (including imports) on Pastel. – Perform creditor reconciliations and prepare payment lists for month-end payments. Inventory Management: – Create new article codes and barcodes on Pastel. Tax & Compliance: – Prepare and submit SARS VAT201 reports and SARS EMP201 submissions via e-filing. – Manage SARS UIF and EMP201 submissions, including EMP501 IRP5 submissions on Easyfile. – Submit IRP5 tax certificates to employees. Payroll for Group: – Manage payroll processing, including capturing all payroll transactions, issuing pay slips, and employee contract management. – Manage Old Mutual Provident Fund contributions and employee timecards. – Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations. – Submit UIF and EMP201 to SARS as required. Minimum Requirements: – Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll management. – Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Intelliserve, Pastel, and Easyfile. – Experience with SARS VAT, EMP201, EMP501, UIF, and payroll tax submissions. – Proficiency in bank reconciliation and managing business banking portals (e.g., Nedbank Business Hub). – Ability to manage stock control and inventory reporting. – Excellent organizational and communication skills. – Ability to work independently and handle multiple financial tasks simultaneously. – Matric or equivalent; accounting/finance qualifications preferred.
