Job Summary

We’re looking for a Test Analyst to join our QA team and work closely with the business analysts, developers, and project managers in different delivery streams. We are looking for someone with Integration, API, SQL and Azure DevOps experience. What you’ll do: All manual testing activities during all phases of the SDLC from analysing business requirements to designing and executing test cases in different environments. Creating and updating test cases to meet the business functional requirements. Reviewing and signing off test cases design and execution packs. Identifying, maintaining and flag test cases for regression and automation purpose Identifying, preparing and maintaining test data in different test environment Performing manual execution of the functional test cases within all test cycles (Unit, System Integration, UAT, Regression, Smoke) Making use of defect tracking tools such as JIRA to log, manage, resolve, and report on bugs/defects Participating in all scrum ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, retros, etc. Providing estimate of test efforts in every sprint planning meeting Providing progress feedback in daily stand-up meetings Capturing time and effort spent on allocated tasks daily and providing monthly timesheets Participating in business sign-off meetings Following QA standards and best practices to ensure the highest level of quality Knowledge sharing with other team members Supporting and maintaining test tools and frameworks Reporting on test progress to managers and delivery team Your expertise: High intermediate – Senior/ 5 years of experience Comfortable working in the following methodologies: Waterfall, Agile and Kanban Experience with tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps Experience working with databases and writing own SQL queries (intermediate level) Experience in Testing APIs and microservices using Postman, Swagger or SoapUI Mobile Testing (beneficial) Experience testing on multiple browsers using web simulators Understanding of test automation principles Understanding of structured test methods and processes Experience working in both Black Box and White Box Testing Knowledge of the Collective Investment Scheme domain (desired) Qualifications: Matric Relevant IT/ Testing Qualification ISTQB Other information applicable to the opportunity: Initial Contract Position: 12 Months Location: Cape Town (hybrid way of work) Why work for us? Our client is a prominent player in the payment services industry, processing billions of transactions annually and delivering tailored, secure solutions to diverse sectors. They are seeking a Test Analyst to join their innovative team, focusing on testing payment applications and supporting software to ensure high-quality deliverables for internal and external customers. In this role, you will analyze system requirements to prioritize test conditions, design and execute both manual and automated test scripts, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with developers to enhance development practices, manage test environments, and maintain technical documentation. The role includes verifying fixes, conducting defect trend analysis, and facilitating smooth handovers from QA to operations. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of testing strategies and processes, ensuring alignment with sprint goals and contractual obligations. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote flexibility with on-site collaboration in South Africa. The team is part of a values-driven culture that emphasizes accountability, innovation, and trust, with a focus on delivering impactful solutions at scale. Job Summary

Job Description Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Test Analyst with hands-on testing expertise and proven experience in test execution for fast-paced project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning, design, and execution of test strategies, test cases, and test scripts for functional and non-functional testing. Coordinate day-to-day testing activities for a small team of testers (including task assignment and progress tracking). Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Conduct system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing across web, mobile, and backend systems. Identify, log, and manage defects, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with development teams. Ensure proper test coverage and risk-based prioritization of testing activities. Create and maintain test documentation and contribute to test process improvement initiatives. Support automation test efforts by working with automation testers or scripting basic automation where applicable. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior testers or contract resources as needed. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous integration and delivery practices. Key Capabilities: Technical Competence: Strong understanding of test methodologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and defect management tools. Leadership: Experience guiding small teams and coordinating test efforts across multiple projects or workstreams. Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams. Problem Solving: Skilled at identifying root causes of issues and suggesting pragmatic solutions. Detail Orientation: Strong focus on test accuracy, data validation, and quality assurance. Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, Agile environments with changing priorities. Critical Skills & Experience: 6 years of experience in software testing, with at least 12 years leading/coordinating a small test team. Solid experience in manual testing, with exposure to automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, SoapUI). Proficient with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, HP ALM). Experience testing retail, ERP, POS, CRM, or e-commerce systems is a strong advantage. Knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing. Understanding of API testing, integration points, and web/mobile testing considerations. Preferred Qualifications: ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification. Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environments. Exposure to automation frameworks Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices is a plus.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to join our team in Cape Town (hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of our software products. The candidate should have experience in developing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. The candidate should also have understanding in MySQL and an Object-Oriented Programming language, as well as knowledge of JIRA, Xray. In this role, youll dive deep into every feature, testing and identifying potential issues before they ever reach the end user. Youll work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure that every release is polished, reliable, and ready for success. Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for software products. Identify and report defects, track progress and verify fixes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts. Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide recommendations for resolution. Analyse and document testing results and provide feedback to development teams. Work with business analysts and developers to define acceptance criteria and ensure requirements are met. Continuously improve testing methodologies and strategies. Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric (essential) Software testing methodologies & strategies. Test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium). Manual testing & defect reporting. Defect tracking with JIRA/Xray. API testing (Postman, RESTful APIs). Performance & Security testing (bonus). MySQL / Database testing. Object-Oriented Programming understanding. Knowledge of REST API design & testing. JIRA, Xray. Git. Postman. Agile development methodologies. SDLC understanding. Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD). Analytical & problem-solving skills. Knowledge of AI tools (e.g., MS Copilot). Knowledge of AI agent support & conversational AI. Content Management Systems (Zendesk Guide). Search Optimization & Metadata. Analytics & Continuous Improvement.
