Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily Cold Store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage all logistic activities including planning, receiving, dispatch, and inventory control
- Ensure ongoing maintenance and monitoring of freezer room temperatures
- Operate and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Ensure compliance with customs procedures for imports and exports
- Supervise staff rosters, timekeeping, and enforce disciplinary procedures when necessary
- Uphold strict adherence to food safety standards and HACCP requirements
- Maintain accurate records: GRVs, receiving books, and GIVs
- Liaise between internal departments and external partners
- Communicate logistics and delivery updates with head office
- Address customer queries, handle samples, and oversee the cleanliness of cold storage areas
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (NQF Level 4) or higher
- 3–5 years’ management experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting / similiar setting
- Cold storage experience is essential
- Medically physically fit
- Strong understanding of WMS and distribution/logistics software
- Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, and Occupational Health & Safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle high-pressure situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
