Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Technician with Red Seal Location: Cape Town, South Africa A leading specialist in heavy-duty automatic transmissions with over 30 years of industry expertise, is seeking a Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team. Minimum Requirements Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic (Merseta Red Seal qualification required) 35 years relevant experience in diesel mechanics and heavy-duty vehicles Proficient communication skills (read, write, and speak) in Afrikaans and English Valid drivers license (Code 10/14 advantageous) Own reliable transport Good health and physically fit for the role Computer literacy (basic/intermediate level) with ability to operate diagnostic equipment Working Conditions Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 17:00 Standby availability required (24/7) on rotation for call-outs and breakdown assistance Overtime may be required on short notice Key Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine vehicle services Work collaboratively and assist fellow employees in a team environment Remove, strip, and replace transmissions on heavy-duty vehicles Conduct fault finding and diagnostics (mechanical and electrical) Perform dyno testing and operate diagnostic equipment Drive and test vehicles after work has been completed (if in possession of a valid Code 10/14 drivers license) Compile detailed job card reports Assist with collection and delivery of parts from customers and suppliers Remuneration Salary is market-related and dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience.
