Minimum requirements for the role: A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (or similar technical qualification) is essential for this role. Previous engineering experience working in a similar environment is preferred. Previous experience working in the mining industry with preference in crushing, process or materials handling equipment is essential. Structural design experience would be an added advantage. Must have knowledge and experience with CAD. FEA analysis experience advantageous as well as basic software development skills are required. Must have good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas. Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing the manufacture and engineering designs for all crushing equipment brands. Promoting the development and increase the technical knowledge across the department and company. Managing the engineering process including design, BoMs, quality systems and change / revision updates. Managing the drawing office and allocation of drawing resources for both crushing and process divisions. Managing all technical documentation for crushing products. Conducting test work and determining the suitability of available equipment to the clients requirements. Producing technical reports and specifications in connection with any test work performed. Assisting the customer in understanding the demands of the material and the implications of machine selection on upstream and downstream processes. Creating product definitions tailored according to clients needs. Creating and registering items and bills of materials in the relevant information system to allow for the procurement of machines/spares/equipment. Commissioning new equipment to meet clients operating requirements. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
