Alternatively, a degree in construction and general management or a related discipline with significant operational management experience will also be considered. Previous senior management experience having worked within the retail, FMCG or the building merchants industry or related is preferred. Previous knowledge of managing building merchant branches in respect of all business functions is pref. Strong ability to think strategically and align operational goals with overall company objectives. Experience in driving change, process improvements, and tech integration is preferred. Previous experience working in a senior operations role, ideally within a retail or multi- format branch environment. Experience managing regional or branch-level operations is essential. In-depth understanding of operational best practices, budgeting, process optimization, inventory management, and financial oversight. Providing strategic recommendations to improve cost-efficiency and profitability across all regions and branches. Identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving initiatives to enhance operational performance, streamline processes, and leverage technology for better results. Ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety, security, and environmental regulations across branches. Taking corrective actions where necessary and ensure a safe and secure working environment. Ensuring that performance improvement strategies are in place to drive consistently high service levels across locations. Monitoring and ensuring that the “order margin review” is up-to-date and aligned with business objectives. Conducting regular reviews of terms matrices to optimize business profitability, ensuring that pricing and margins are aligned with market conditions and internal targets.
