Overview
My Client a Wildlife Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape with a Deluxe 5 Star Lodge is urgently recruiting for a management couple to fill the following positions : He – Wildlife Reserve Manager and She: Lodge Anchor / Executive Housekeeper
Remuneration Structure:
- Salary : Negotiable (for the couple): Basic salary will be discussed during interviews. However, under COVID conditions candidates need to be negotiable & look rather to future earnings when the industry rights itself. So they may need to look at a reduced offer for now which would be amended later on when the lodge is back on track.
- Live in accommodation provided
Critical Requirements for these roles:
Reserve Manager :
- Matric
- Tertiary Diploma (or related qualification) : Conservation Management , Eco / Wildlife Management or similar
- Field / Trails guiding would assist application
- Proven Safari / Game reserve management experience
- Maintenance Management : Vehicles etc
- Road and drainage maintenance
- Fence Maintenance
- Anti Poaching experience
- Game Count and Feeding experience as may be required from time to time
- be able to work well in multi-disciplinary teams
- have a passionate interest in conserving natural resources
- love outdoor life and animals
- have good health and physical fitness
- be practical and self-sufficient
Lodge Anchor / Executive Housekeeper
- Matric
- Hospitality / Hotel Management diploma – preferred
- Must be proven & experienced in managing, training, cost control and have strong administrative skills
- Relationship building, with staff, guests, the community, the industry (agents and other lodges)
- Strong leader who has been in charge of employees before
- Lateral thinking ability
- Initiative
- Must be able to cope under pressure to meet guests needs
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with staff and guests
- Attention to detail
- Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines
- Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others
- Computer and financial skill
- Work experience as an Exec Housekeeping / Supervisor or similar role
- Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations
- Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Excellent organizational and team management skills
- Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

- Knowledge of Game Reserve Operations required

- Able to handle pressure & difficult situations if required
- Able to multitask & deliver as required in accordance with company standards
- Adherence to all company practices
- Leading, training and motivating the team
- Drive the lodges quality plan and implement all required standards
