Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced FMCG operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a passion for driving efficiency within high-volume manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical equipment and production lines
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and plant upgrades
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to ensure operational excellence
- Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related qualification)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within the FMCG or manufacturing sector
- Strong knowledge of high-speed production machinery, conveyors, and automated systems
- Proficiency in CAD software and maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP, Pragma)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities with a collaborative approach
- Willingness to work shifts or be on standby as required
