About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to manage their core financial operations in Cape Town. As a key member of our dynamic finance team, you will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and contribute to the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and regulations.
- Review supplier reconciliations and payments prior to release, and process Forex payments.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns, including VAT201 and EMP201.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new financial policies and procedures.
- Assist with internal/external audits and create spreadsheets and databases to record and monitor financial information.
- Provide assistance with cash flow management and analysis.
Requirements
- Qualification: Completed SAICA articles are essential. A CA(SA) designation is preferred, though a Professional Accountant (AGA(SA)) will also be considered.
- Experience: Candidates who have recently completed their articles are encouraged to apply. Alternatively, 3+ years of post-article experience is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivots, vlookups, xlookups) and experience with ERP systems (Syspro is advantageous).
- IFRS Knowledge: Experience with both IFRS and IFRS for SMEs will be advantageous.
- Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills. Must have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and take ownership of tasks.
