? Role Overview

A leading luxury travel group is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Consultant to join their remote reservations team. The successful candidate will manage the full sales and booking cycle, from consultation and itinerary building to invoicing and supplier liaison, ensuring seamless delivery of tailor-made luxury travel experiences.

This role requires strong destination knowledge across Southern & East Africa, exceptional client management skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote office environment.

? Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sales process, including itinerary design, quoting, invoicing, and booking management.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key accounts.

• Ensure high conversion rates through effective consultation, upselling, and cross-selling.

• Oversee group bookings, tour series, and special requests.

• Deliver exceptional customer service, including complaint handling and client follow-ups.

• Ensure timely supplier payments in coordination with Finance.

• Contribute to product development and destination knowledge within the team.

• Report on sales performance and booking trends.

• Participate in shared 24-hour standby duties on a roster basis.

? Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years Senior Sales/Consultant experience in the luxury travel industry.

• Strong destination knowledge of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia – ESSENTIAL (East Africa, Mozambique & Malawi advantageous).

• Proficiency in reservations systems (Travel Studio & Wetu preferred).

• Fluent in English (verbal & written).

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all bookings.

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Proven ability to mentor and coach junior staff (advantageous).

• Must have a reliable home office setup with consistent internet and electricity supply (Regus Business Lounge membership provided in Gauteng as a backup option).

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours standby shifts and Saturday mornings.

• Professional, adaptable, and client-focused with a sense of humour and a passion for travel.

? Salary & Benefits

• Market-related basic salary (dependent on experience).

• Commission structure applicable to the role.

• Permanent contract with a 6-month probation period.

• Laptop, screen, and phone system (MS Teams) provided.

• Fully remote role.
